Comment on Australian Teen Pregnancy Rate Considered Alarming by Simon

I asked my expert on Dutch youth and she cites education and ease of getting an abortion as the reasons. It looks like the figures actually record teenage mothers, not pregnancies. Probably YET another case of sloppy and hence meaningless stats. The media is great at taking data and turning it into random noise.

Anyway, my pet theory is that the Dutch youth are too busy experimenting which drugs to have time to experiment with sex. Now that magic mushrooms have been made illegal, they're now a lot more exciting to experiment with, of course. ;-)

From the article it is interesting see how some people believe that photos of genitals and disease can be "traumatising" for young people. Perhaps there should a "Don't look down!" campaign for the youth to warn them about the dangers of showering and bathing.

I listen to Marketplace a few times a week. It's a daily financial news show from the west coast, and it's on the radio at around the time I leave the office in the evening.

The Money Planet podcast on NPR is good too. Comes out daily, ~15mins and isn't too technical.

I was not paying attention. Is this the game that had Tendulkar passing up Lara for the highest career total runs? Will this make my dentist happy and put her in a good mood? One can only hope.
